THRIVE Gulu was founded as an organization that would provide excellence in trauma counseling to survivors of one of the worst atrocities of the modern era – the destruction of life and liberty perpetrated by the Lord’s Resistance Army in northern Uganda. Counseling and Psycho-Social Support remains a pillar of our identity. Our counselors are among the most skilled professionals in the country. Together, they form a team that now provides a full range of services to individuals and communities throughout Gulu District and beyond.
Through active listening, empathy and an openness to all, THRIVE provides Psycho-Social Support to survivors of conflict: both women and men, adults and children, 1st– 2nd– 3rdgenerations. Services include: Psychoeducation; Group, Family and Individual Counseling; Mobile Mental Health Clinics; Call-In Radio Programs; Lay Counselor Training; School Counseling and Educational Psychology; Linkage of Mental Health with Primary Health Care.
