THRIVE believes the best way to support communities is to go directly to them, asking villagers what sort of help they need and partnering with them in a cooperative agreement to bring demonstrable change to their quality of life. Over the years, we have learned the power of micro-savings – not only do villagers learn how to work together and trust one another, but they collectively engage in a means of building financial security for themselves and their families.
Through education and motivation, THRIVE establishes Empowerment Groups in some of the most marginalized villages in post-conflict Uganda, targeting regions where individuals are struggling to reclaim their dignity in the aftermath of trauma and in the midst of poverty. Services include: Village Savings and Loan Associations; Business Success Education; Group Dynamics; Democratic Governance; Leadership; Adult Literacy; Gender Equality; Gender-Based Violence Awareness and Response.
