When my father died, I realized I had to work hard to help myself and my mom. I needed courage. I was embarrassed and very worried. I decided to join the Empowerment Group in my village. I found other women who don’t have a father and husband just like me. They encouraged me to save and heal from the loss of my father. They have helped me a lot.
Being in a group has given me confidence and public speaking skills. I now have courage! I worked hard and became a THRIVE Literacy Facilitator which has changed my life. I have learned to teach others and realized my goal is to become a primary teacher. I am currently saving money from my job and the Village Savings and Loan Association to take courses next year.
I am proud that I am respected in my village because I am a THRIVE Literacy Facilitator. I feel very free. I no longer stand with fear because THRIVE has given me the confidence I was missing. THRIVE is changing the lives of many people. I hope more people can be helped, especially the youth in the villages who may feel like I once did. I am very very happy.
