Irene is proud to have recently completed a Diploma in Secretarial Studies and Information Management. She is excited to see how her education will enhance her career with THRIVE. Irene brings excellent interpersonal skills to her work, and is responsible for arranging and organizing the THRIVE Center for meetings and cooking up the best posho and beans this side of Kenya!
Irene identifies her biggest personal accomplishment at THRIVEGulu as the daily effort she puts into her work, making certain that all of her daily job duties are accomplished on time and in good order. She shares, “I like working for THRIVEGulu because of the support and encouragement given to us by the Country Director. I have learned how to work with fellow staff and am always happy to take on more responsibility when someone is on leave.”
THRIVEGulu has a major impact on Irene: “THRIVE has made me a responsible person and has given me the courage to share with people in times of difficulties. The most unique thing about me is the kind of heart that I have for others. The most important thing to me about me about the work THRIVE does is that it focuses on supporting individuals from northern Ugandan where the traumatic war events took place. The support that is given to the vulnerable women who are in the THRIVE groups makes a major difference in their lives.”
