THRIVE Gulu
The power of women...of music...of books. The power to Thrive.
May 18th, 7pm ET.
Longwood Symphony Orchestra.

On Tuesday, the 18th of May, THRIVEGulu will celebrate its latest endeavor in 11 years of helping survivors become THRIVERS, the upcoming construction of a new Library and Resource Center! A natural extension of our ongoing literacy and empowerment programs, the new facility will include a well-stocked library to provide access… to books for literacy learners and their families, to computers for people seeking employment, to teen moms in looking for support with parenting skills, to young people learning how to prevent and respond to gender-based violence. THRIVE seeks to provide the tools for empowering women and their community to THRIVE!

THRIVE is proud to have been selected again by the Longwood Symphony Orchestra to be showcased as a “Community Partner” through its Healing Art of Music program. This prestigious honor recognizes our leadership in mental health trauma recovery for post-conflict survivors in Northern Uganda. The Longwood Symphony Orchestra is comprised primarily of highly trained musicians who are also medical professionals, and its programs focus on combining the healing arts of music and medicine. The LSO believes that music has the power to heal the soul and the community. For this special concert, we celebrate the power of women by enjoying a performance of music composed and performed by women.

As a Community Partner, THRIVE is invited to use this virtual event as a unique fundraising opportunity. With it, we can build awareness of both the thousands of individuals for whom we have helped restore hope and opportunity, as well as the thousands more whom we can help with our new Library and Resource Center, which can happen only with your generous support. Please join us at our event from the comfort of your own home! You can help us by purchasing VIP tickets to attend the prelude reception with a special musical performance (and a gift bag), funding a sponsorship at a higher donation level, or making a donation. Check back on this page to see updates as we hear more about the repertoire to be performed on the 18th as well as the speakers who will join us.

Take this opportunity to be a Sponsor for THRIVE’s concert on May 18th! There are many ways that you can support us, including:

  • Donate $10,000 or more and be a part of naming the new Media Center, Reading Room, or WASH Facility. This is an opportunity for you to leave a permanent legacy of goodwill in Africa!
